Students were over the moon after receiving some of the best results ever.
Huxlow Science College in Irthlingborough have been rewarded for all their hard work with some of the college's best results ever, but headteacher Mick Malton is particularly pleased that children of all different abilities did well.

He said: " These are some of the best results we have ever had so we are thrilled. We believe strongly that every grade for every student matters and so we are particularly pleased with the fact that students of all abilities have been very successful."

Ninety-nine per cent of all students gained five or more GCSE passes and 65 per cent gained five or more A* to C grades.

The college is particularly proud that as a science college 76 per cent of the students gained two high grades in Science.

Sophie Earl, 16 was very surprised to receive three A*s, four As and three Bs.

She said: "I feel very happy. I thought I was going to fail miserably so I am really pleased."

Oliver Jackson, 16 got an A* in science, 6 As and three Bs.

He said: "I am really pleased. I will be going partying with my friends to celebrate. "

Both Sophie and Oliver will be moving up to sixth form in September.

Sophie then hopes to study photography at college and Oli hopes to go to university to study engineering.
